McMinnville Area Habitat For Humanity
Apply for a Home

The first step in learning about if you want to partner with Habitat for Humanity to build a home, and to apply, is to attend an Information session. Attending an Information session is a mandatory step in the process. You must have attended an Information session within the last 11 months in order to be eligible to complete a pre-application and then receive an application.

Thursday, May 17, 2012: English, 6:00pm - 7:30pm; Spanish, 7:30pm - 9:00pm
Sunday, May 20, 2012: English, 1:30pm - 3:00pm; Spanish, 3:00pm - 4:30pm

Thursday, September 20, 2012: English, 6:00pm - 7:30pm; Spanish, 7:30pm - 9:00pm
Sunday, September 23, 2012: English, 1:30pm - 3:00pm; Spanish, 3:00pm - 4:30pm

All sessions will all be held at the Housing Authority of Yamhill County at 135 NE Dunn Place in McMinnville. Childcare will be available, though parents should provide diapers and any special foods.

  1. You will be considered for a Habitat home if your present housing is not adequate and if you are unable to obtain adequate housing through other conventional means.  Lack of adequate housing may include problems with the present structure; water, electrical or sewage service systems; heating system, or failure to meet city property maintenance standards.  Also taken into consideration are the number, the ages and the gender of children compared to the number of bedrooms in your present home.
  2. The percentage of your monthly income that you currently spend on housing is considered to determine need.  You will be required to openly and fully discuss your financial situation with Habitat personnel.
  3. You and your family will be considered if your annual total income is between 40-60% of the area median income for Yamhill County, as determined by HUD.
